Maharajganj: Govind Pratap Pathak, a resident of Barohiya in Maharajganj district, wins everyone’s heart with his paintings. His specialty is that he can draw an exact picture of any person or object on paper. People like his paintings very much. Govind Pathak says that his mother was a good painter. He learned painting from his mother and has made his mark as a good painter today. He was very interested in painting since childhood and made it his profession.
My mind was more interested in painting than in studies
Painter Govind Pratap Pathak says that his family always encouraged him to study. Although he was a little weak in studies compared to other students, he was unmatched in painting. He studied intermediate in the district itself and went to Faizabad for graduation degree and also did Bombay Arts. From his college days itself, he started getting awards and encouragement for painting. However, the love of family members and mother’s affection did not let him go too far.
Many people were trained in the art
Govind Pathak, a resident of Barohiya, also worked as a teacher in different schools. He encouraged children in schools to take up art and also prepared them to paint. During his studies, he made a portrait of the country’s former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and sent it to him. In response, Rajiv Gandhi sent Govind Pathak a portrait of himself and a letter signed by him. Apart from this, Govind Pathak also presented a portrait to former Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik.
